On Thursday, fans on social media noted that commentator Kevin Kelly was no longer listed on the AEW roster page, which typically means someone has departed the company. And now, PWTorch.com has confirmed that the announcer was fired because of a series of posts on X over the weekend. In these, the 56-year-old had vented his frustration about how he was being used and seemingly accused Ian Riccaboni of ruining his career after his fellow commentator previously claimed he was a QAnon conspiracy believer.
“Kelly’s posts on social media last weekend cost him his job, according to PWTorch sources. Kelly gained a lot of attention when he went on TwitterX last weekend and accused ROH announcer Ian Riccaboni of sabotaging his career and of libel.”
PWTorch.comKelly, real name Kevin Foote, made his name in WWE after signing with the company in 1996. Initially, he worked as a backstage interviewer before becoming a commentator, although due to budget cuts, he was released in 2003. Since then, he has commentated for MLW, ROH, and New Japan before signing with AEW last summer to become part of the Collision announce team.
