One of the reasons wrestlers want to work for AEW over other promotions is that Tony Khan allows talents to pursue other interests and projects, such as acting roles and podcasting. However, when it was revealed that Darby Allin was being permitted to climb Mount Everest while under contract, many fans thought this was too extreme. This is because over 300 people have died attempting to climb the mountain, with 200 of those bodies unrecovered.

Still, 32-year-old Allin is known for his daredevil lifestyle, and while his initial attempt had to be postponed after he suffered a broken foot while wrestling Jay White, it’s known that his ascent officially began on April 8, 2025. And now, just over a week late, the website adventureconsultants.com has shared updates and photos, indicating the AEW star is enjoying the challenge.

Allin is one of AEW’s brightest stars, although the longevity of his career is always in question, considering his reckless style, carefree attitude, and willingness to take bumps like the one he did at Revolution 2024 from a ladder through a pane of glass. Yet, he always manages to rebound, and considering how dangerous some of his stunts are both inside and outside the ring, it’s possible that climbing Mount Everest is safer.
