For many years, Lex Luger has stated in interviews that if they could pick anyone to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame, it would be his former WCW colleague Sting. Therefore, once Luger was officially announced as being part of the Class of 2025, fans online began to speculate about Sting’s involvement, although most realized it was unlikely due to Sting being All Elite.
Still, Fightful Select has now provided hope to fans who want to see Sting make a shock WWE return by reporting WWE is planning to reach out to Sting if they haven’t already. Still, it was noted that whether AEW would need to approve Sting’s involvement isn’t known.
Luger and Sting became close friends while working together in WCW, and the former football player credits him with saving his professional wrestling career. This is because back in 1992, Luger had a head-on crash with a car while riding his motorbike, and doctors didn’t think his right arm could be saved. However, Sting had thankfully gone to the hospital to visit Luger, and when he heard talk of amputation, he personally called orthopedic surgeon Dr. Andrews, who intervened and subsequently saved Luger’s arm.
