On Tuesday, the big story on social media was that Taz had put Jordynne Grace on blast for using his catchphrase “beat me if you can, survive if I let you” as the caption on a photograph she shared on X. This would see the ECW legend point on he had this trademarked, and say if Grace was paying tribute to him, then she should have tagged him.
However, seemingly wanting to draw a line under this, Taz has now shared a video addressing the situation and acknowledging he might have been hypersensitive. Although he would note he has been burnt before by people making money off his creations.
This isn’t the first time Grace has stirred up controversy on X, as two years ago, she sparked outrage among several wrestling veterans, including Konnan and Chavo Guerrero Jr., by stating that Chris Benoit should burn in hell and wouldn’t have been able to compete with today’s wrestlers. This tweet led to a significant backlash from the wrestling community, and Grace issued an apology, calling her remarks “irresponsible and unnecessary.” Additionally, she donated $5,000 to the Concussion Legacy Foundation, which supports athletes affected by concussions and CTE.
