Sting Reveals How He Hopes Fans Remember Him

Sting had an incredible 30-year in-ring career, where he was arguably the biggest star in the history of WCW, and deservedly was the headline induction for the 2006 WWE Hall of Fame. He also influenced a future generation of wrestlers with John Cena, Jeff Hardy, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Shelton Benjamin, and even Tommy Dreamer, having all stated that he inspired them.

Now in an interview with the Two Man Power Trip podcast, he spoke about his legacy and how he hopes fans remember him now he is retired.

Man, I hope people remember things like my worth ethic, being dependable, I didn’t pull no shows, I didn’t milk injuries, I had longevity. When I was in the ring, I tried to bring in every night. I tried to be as entertaining as I could, keep the crowd involved in the match. I’m hoping fans will remember my gear, staying in shape, being believable, trying to always be better, always be innovative, and creative, the way I was able to change and evolve. I hope they remember those things about me. Sting

Sting had spent most of the last six years connected to WWE but was recently released from his Legends contract. This has related in speculation that Sting could end up working with AEW, who have a good track record of using past stars such as Arn Anderson, DDP, and Jake Roberts in the promotion. It certainly would be fitting in the final chapter of his career ended on TNT, which was the home of WCW.
