Second-Generation Puerto Rican Wrestler Passes Away Aged 54

In sad news, it has been reported that Julio Domingo Estrada, better known to wrestling fans as Rico Suave, has passed away aged just 54. As of writing, no cause of death has been confirmed, although it’s understood he recently underwent heart surgery. The Puerto Rican wrestler is survived by his father, José Estrada Sr., who was one of the Los Conquistadors in WWE, as well as his brother José Estrada Jr., who is likely best known for being in the Los Boricuas stable during the Attitude Era.

Estrada broke into the business at the age of 14, which, given his family association, isn’t a huge surprise. And while he was never the same level of star as his relatives, he held multiple championships in the WWC promotion and also worked in Japan under the ring name Crazy Sheik. Still, he retired from being a full-time wrestler in 2009 and instead became a phlebotomist while making occasional appearances.
