During last week’s episode of Dynamite, it was announced by Don Callis that Sammy Guevara wasn’t able to compete due to not being medically cleared. Subsequently, it would be reported that Guevara was suffering from a concussion that occurred at WrestleDream. And now, ahead of AEW’s next taping in Rosenberg, which is close to Guevara’s hometown of Houston, the AEW star has sadly confirmed on X.com that he still hasn’t been medically cleared to return to the ring. However, on a positive note, he would add he is feeling better every day.
30-year-old Guevara has always been booked as a prominent performer in AEW. Still, his recent heel turn and current storyline with Chris Jericho and Don Callis looked set to propel the AEW original to new heights. Therefore, it can only be hoped that his absence from the ring is short, as it would be disappointing for everybody involved if he lost his current momentum.
