Tony Khan stunned wrestling fans on Saturday by firing CM Punk following his behavior at All In, and subsequently, the AEW head honcho appeared on AEW television to personally explain why. However, while it seems most fans seemingly understand the position Khan was put in, it appears not everyone has turned on Punk, as his close longtime friend Lars Frederiksen of Rancid would take to Instagram to share his support for his fellow punk. Nevertheless, while the post caused a lot of passionate discussion initially, Instagram took it down for “inciting hatred and violence.” A screenshot, though, can be viewed below.

What’s next for Punk remains to be seen, as it’s well known that he brunt his bridge in WWE a long time ago. That said, the company has gone on to work with names like Bret Hart, Jesse Ventura, and The Ultimate Warrior, all of whom seemed improbable at one time. Therefore, it could just be a matter of time before Punk returns to WWE, although it currently feels like a long shot.
