Last year, it was reported that Jerry “The King” Lawler’s WWE deal had been allowed to expire quietly, which shocked many fans because he’d been a significant part of the promotion on and off since 1992. Yet, it was later verified that he was still firmly connected to the company via a WWE Legends contract, meaning he remains eligible to have merchandise produced and continue appearing in video games.
Still, it now appears that 75-year-old Lawler no longer watches the product as closely as he previously did, as he revealed while speaking to Bill Apter during a new interview that he doesn’t have Netflix, which is where Raw is streamed.
Lawler began wrestling in 1970 and, since then, has wrestled every year up until and including 2023. However, due to multiple health issues, he didn’t wrestle in 2024, which means his impressive 53-year streak of being an active wrestler ended without any fanfare. Obviously, this would have disappointed the WWE Hall of Famer, as he likely wanted to at least equal Dory Funk Jr.’s 55 consecutive-year run. Still, it’s obviously for the best that Lawler stays out of the ring, given his highly publicized heart issues.
