Heartbreaking Reason PWG Isn’t Running Shows At The Moment

Top independent promotion Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has only run three shows this year, and now co-owner Super Dragon has shared the sad reason on X.com. The former indie wrestling star would reveal that his girlfriend is battling an aggressive form of cancer, and he has struggled to focus on anything else. However, he would reassure fans the promotion will run shows again in 2024. Our thoughts go out to Super Dragon, real name Daniel Lyon, and his girlfriend at this harrowing time.

California-based PWG was launched in 2003 by Super Dragon, Excalibur, Joey Ryan, Disco Machine, Scott Lost, and Top Gun Talwar. However, only Super Dragon and Excalibur remain involved nowadays. The promotion is highly regarded for its influence on a whole generation of talents making their name in the business, including The Young Bucks, and it’s been said that if there hadn’t been a PWG, then AEW wouldn’t exist today.
