Tragically, independent professional wrestler Vince Steele passed away on March 16 following a suspected heart attack aged just 39. According to those at the New Jersey-based Brii Combination Wrestling event, the 6’5” Stelle, known as “The Jurassic Juggernaut,” collapsed mid-match, and while he did receive medical attention, it’s understood the ambulance called took 45 minutes to arrive, which was far too late. Therefore, Steele’s brother has launched a GoFundMe to cover his funeral costs, with $8,370 raised from 124 kind donors.
Steele entered the business in 2007, and while most of his matches were in New Jersey, he occasionally traveled, making West Virginia’s Big Time Wrestling his home away from home. During his career, he shared the ring with several notable names, including Savio Vega, Jay Lethal, Sabu, and Crowbar. Additionally, he proved his hardcore credentials in 2019 when he defeated Mad Man Pondo and The Sandman in a hardcore elimination match, which can be viewed below.
