On Thursday night, TNA held its Unbreakable streaming special on TNA+. The special was taking place in Las Vegas, where WrestleMania weekend is happening, and therefore promised surprises, especially with TNA’s X Division Champion Moose having an open challenge for the show. And while not the biggest name in the world, Sidney Akeem, known as Reggie and later Scrypts in WWE, would make his debut for the promotion in what would ultimately be a losing effort.
However, it appears this was a short-notice decision, as Akeem had been advertised for WrestleCon but pulled out late on Wednesday night. Whether this means he was a replacement for someone else or TNA didn’t have anyone planned is unclear, but it could now potentially lead to the former WWE 24/7 Champion becoming a regular in TNA.
32-year-old Sidney joined WWE in 2020 and was soon introduced as a French sommelier character named Reginald alongside Carmella. From there, he would make his in-ring debut almost a year after signing with the company, wrestling in an intergender match with Sasha Banks. Still, despite building up a fanbase, he was repackaged in 2022 when he was moved to NXT and became a masked wrestler known as Scrypts.
