Three weeks ago, it was revealed that Orange Cassidy would replace Eddie Kingston at New Japan’s NJPW Collision in Philadelphia. And subsequently, it has been confirmed by Kingston himself on Ring of Honor TV that he is dealing with a hernia injury and “most likely” needs surgery.
And now, at Sunday’s latest set of tapings, he has confirmed that he will require this, with surgery scheduled for Tuesday. He would, though, add he is expected to miss a further six weeks, so he’ll likely be back in time for Death Before Dishonor which last year took place in late July.
41-year-old Kingston’s injury has come as a big blow to Tony Khan’s version of ROH, as he was expected to be an integral part of the promotion. Nevertheless, he has shown his value to Ring of Honor, with his last match being a match-of-the-year contender with Claudio Castagnoli at Supercard of Honor back in March.
