The Kabuki Warriors, featuring Asuka and Kairi Sane, lost their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at Backlash. Since then, Asuka has been absent from the ring, with Dakota Kai having taken her place in the WWE’s Queen of the Ring tournament. And now, in her latest YouTube video, the Japanese star has announced she is taking a break to address her injured knee. The duration of her absence remains a mystery, but hopefully, she’ll be back sooner rather than later.
“After the Backlash of my European tour, I had to take a break to treat my knee I had been hurting for a while, my partners Kairi and Dakota helped me a lot during this tour as I could not move at my best. I am very grateful to both of them.”
AsukaTwo months ago, during an episode of SmackDown, Asuka joined the rest of Damage CTR in attacking Bayley to close the show. However, the big talking point afterward wasn’t the beatdown but the fact that Asuka was noticeably limping. At the time, it was believed her WrestleMania XL match was at risk, although after skipping a couple of live events, she would be able to compete at WWE’s biggest show of the year, seemingly thanks to her determination and toughness.
