Crazy Town Singer’s Cause Of Death Revealed

Earlier this week, Crazy Town singer Shifty Shellshock, whose real name was Seth Binzer, passed away at the age of 49. The frontman was found at his home in Los Angeles.

The singer had long battled addiction, and he even appeared on several rehab-style reality shows in attempt to get and stay clean. Sadly, it was his addiction issues that caused his passing, according to his rep, Howie Hubberman. “Seth has been struggling with substance abuse problems for quite sometime,” Hubberman told Rolling Stone. “Seth was not happy with the daily struggle that’s called life. Some people cope in many different ways. It’s unfortunate we lose so many people to addiction and accessibility to harmful drugs. Shifty was a real-life tragedy. Too fast, too hard, too soon.”

Binzer spoke about his issues with the “Perfectly Twisted” podcast late last year. “Through my journey, I’ve found that no one’s perfect, and now addiction touches so many families, so I work really hard on being transparent,” he said.

“I’m not someone who got sober and stayed sober all these years, and I beat myself up about that because I think I’m my biggest critic. But a lot of people have the same problem…. So, I really want to use my experience to help other people because I think it’s taken me years to find peace.”

Crazy Town came to prominence in 2000 on the back of No. 1 single “Butterfly.” The band’s debut album, “The Gift of Game,” sold more than a million copies, and the group toured with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and made an appearance on Ozzfest.
