Very Surprising Information Revealed Regarding Shane McMahon’s Interest In Joining AEW

Shane McMahon hasn’t been seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 39 when he tore his quad in what was meant to have been an impromptu match against The Miz. Subsequently, with WWE merging with Endeavor to create TKO and his father, Vince McMahon, resigning from the company due to the Janel Grant scandal, it appeared the 54-year-old’s time in the business could be over.

However, after it was recently speculated about him potentially joining AEW during an episode of Jim Ross’ popular podcast, the AEW commentator’s co-host Conrad Thompson has revealed that he’s been told that Shane has been in touch with some of AEW’s roster to discuss this hypothetically.

“There was a friend of ours. He went out of his way to text me, ‘Hey, that’s not as crazy as you think. I know for sure that Shane McMahon has reached out to wrestlers on the AEW roster to at least hypothetically discuss the idea.”

Shane McMahon began working for WWE at the age of just 15, initially in their merchandise warehouse. He would eventually go on to work as a referee under the name Shane Stevens while also working behind the scenes. Still, it wasn’t until 1998 that he became well-known to fans due to appearing on screen alongside his father during his legendary feud with Steve Austin and as a color commentator on Sunday Night Heat. From there, he began occasionally wrestling matches and even won PWI’s Rookie of the Year, but would decline to accept the award because he felt it should go to an actual wrestler.
