TNA Confirms Eric Young Isn’t Medically Cleared To Wrestle After His Ear Was Severed (w/Video)

With a few exceptions, TNA’s Rebellion pay-per-view was a very well-received show, with one of the highlights being the Full Metal Mayhem match between veterans Eric Young and Frankie Kazarian. However, there was a scary spot in the match where instead of going through a table, Young would catch the edge of it with his head, resulting in significant blood loss.

And now TNA has announced on social media via a Gia Miller update that Young isn’t currently medically cleared to wrestle due to having had his ear reattached by a plastic surgeon. Of course, how much this update is in kayfabe needs to be clarified, but Young was undoubtedly cut severely by the table.

“Eric Young suffered a severe laceration to his ear. He did see a local plastic surgeon who helped to attach the severed ear. He is no longer medically cleared to wrestle.”

44-year-old Young, real name Jeremy Fritz, is synonymous with TNA, initially joining the promotion in 2004 and subsequently having had three successful runs in between spells with WWE. During his time, he would have many memorable matches and held multiple titles, although the highlight was his two TNA World Heavyweight/Impact World Championship victories, with one coming in 2014 and the other in 2020.
