Sika Of The Wild Samoans Has Passed Away Aged 79

In very sad news, the nephew of Sika Anoaʻi has announced via Instagram that the WWE Hall of Famer passed away peacefully on Tuesday at the age of 79. Anoaʻi is known by wrestling historians for his part in the legendary Wild Samoans tag team. However, modern-day fans likely know him best as the father of Roman Reigns and the also sadly departed Rosey.

Anoaʻi broke into the business back in 1973 via Stampede Wrestling after being trained by his brother Afa and Kurt Von Steiger. Subsequently, he and Afa formed the Wild Samoans, going on to capture 21 tag team championships, three of which were the WWF World Tag Team Championships during their career. And while they have been out of the spotlight for many years, they did appear at Hell in a Cell in 2020 to celebrate Roman Reigns’ victory over Jey Uso.
