Ric Flair Reveals Shocking Previously Unknown Information Regarding His Last Match

Ric Flair wrestled his last match back in 2022, and to say it was controversial at the time would be an understatement, with readers of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter voting it as the third Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic of 2022. A major reason for this was Flair teased suffering a heart attack during the bout and even legitimately passed out multiple times, leaving fans horrified with what they were watching.

And now Flair has revealed in an interview with the Jaxxson Podcast that during one of the times he passed out, he suffered an actual real heart attack and only found out six months ago when getting his pacemaker checked.

“This is six months ago. The guy takes me in, and if you look at your heart like a round pie, there’s a piece of my heart right here, this big, it’s black, it’s gone. The guy said, ‘You’ve had a heart attack in the last two years.’ I said, ‘I never hurt.’ He said, ‘Have you passed out in the last two years?’ And during my last match, I passed out three times, and I thought it was because I was dehydrated.

So I went in the locker room, I was with Kid Rock and Taker. I just drank two bottles of Gatorade and went back out to Kid Rock’s place all night long. But I had a heart attack. It didn’t hurt, no, none. I feel great, that’s my problem. I’m sure I’m just gonna fall off a chair one day.”

While Flair was heavily condemned for wrestling in his 70s with known health issues, he responded to his haters by claiming he was paid a whopping $300,000 for the match. And considering the show was available on pay-per-view and drew 6,800 fans for a live gate of $448,502, this is believable. Still, it appears a genuine tragedy almost occurred, which would have been a terrible black eye to the pro wrestling business, which many people already look down upon.
