Having made her AEW debut last year, British wrestler Mariah May is considered an up-and-coming star in the promotion thanks to her association with Toni Storm. However, some fans have compared her to WWE’s Tiffany Stratton, seemingly because they are both high-energy blondes. And now, in an interview with Ring The Belle, May has addressed this, calling Statton a “sweetheart” and acknowledging that there can be multiple blondes in the business.
“I don’t mind at all. I think Tiffany’s great, I think she’s a superstar. She’s great in the ring. I love her gear, I’m always like, ‘Yeah, that’s cute.’ Everyone will tag me on her pictures or tag her on my pictures. She’s a sweetheart, we spoke before. At the end of the day, there can be multiple blondes. We all love Barbie, we all love the divas. Me, Anna, and Julia were talking about this. We all love the divas, and if you think about our age group, remember we came up on Total Divas and Nikki Bella and stuff, so yes, we’re going to look like Barbie dolls, but we’re also some of the greatest wrestlers.”
Mariah May25-year-old May began her pro wrestling career as a ring announcer in 2018 and started in-ring training shortly afterward, working independent shows in her hometown of London. Subsequently, she went on to catch the eye of WWE scouts, who had her tryout for NXT UK. Unfortunately, for May, nothing more came of that, although after continuing to work in the UK, in 2022, she would go on to become a regular in Japan’s Stardom promotion.
