Latest Update On What Is Known About Rhea Ripley’s Injury

Prior to this week’s Raw, news broke that Rhea Ripley would possibly need to vacate the WWE Women’s World Championship due to injury. This promoted some fans taking to various comment sections, claiming it was part of the storyline and not wanting to believe the report. However, it was accurate, and the Australian star would surrender the championship during Raw, ending her memorable reign at 380 days.

Now, PWInsider.com has confirmed that the injury occurred when Liv Morgan pushed Ripley into a wall during a backstage segment the week prior, injuring her AC joint, which is where the collarbone and right shoulder are connected. At present, it isn’t known how long Ripley will be out of action, as whether she requires surgery will play a factor in that.

“PWInsider.com has been told by multiple sources that the injury occurred when Ripley was sent into a wall by Liv Morgan, injuring the AC joint where her collarbone and right shoulder are connected. We are told that her recovery time has not been confirmed internally and it will be dependent on whether she requires surgery as well as physical therapy.”

An injured AC joint typically takes only two to six weeks for a full range of motion and strength to return. Yet, depending on severity, it can take at least six months for the shoulder to fully return to normal. Therefore, WWE obviously decided they had no other option but to take the title of Ripley. Subsequently, a new champion is now scheduled to be crowned during next week’s Raw episode, although who will be competing for the title has yet to be confirmed.
