Confirmation That AEW Star Requires Surgery

Unfortunately, during last week’s episode of Dynamite, Powerhouse Hobbs suffered a knee injury while wrestling Jon Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. Subsequently, the match would be cut short, although it was hoped the injury wouldn’t sideline the homegrown star for too long. However, Fightful Select has reported that Hobbs requires surgery, which may have already taken place.

“Fightful has learned that Hobbs requires surgery, which will be happening imminently, if it hasn’t already.”

33-year-old Hobbs broke into the business in 2009 and spent the next decade working on the independents.  And while he wrestled in a dark match for WWE against Baron Corbin in 2016, his true big break came in 2020 when he began wrestling on AEW’s YouTube show, Dark. From there, he impressed Tony Khan enough to earn a full-time contract and become a regular on Dynamite as part of Team Taz. Later, he would join QT Marshall’s “QTV” stable as the muscle, although when that fizzled out, he would go on to join the Don Callis Family.
