Confirmation Of Megan Bayne’s AEW Status

Last year, it was reported that in their attempt to find the next big star on the indies, AEW had signed Megan Bayne, who had previously worked for them as an enhancement talent. However, since then, she’s been mainly working in Japan, with it presumed she was gaining experience before returning to AEW. Yet it turns out that isn’t the case, as according to a new report by Fightful Select, the 26-year-old is currently a free agent.

“After finishing up with Stardom and returning to the United States, Fightful posted a report that creative pitches were being made for Megan Bayne. At the time, it appeared that she was still with All Elite Wrestling, but we’re told that hasn’t been the case for quite a while. Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed with sources close to Bayne that she’s currently a free agent.”

Bayne, whose real name is Megan Doheny, broke into the business in 2017 via Ohio Valley Wrestling and would go on to win the promotion’s top female championship in 2019. From there, she became well-known on the independent scene and, by 2023, had gained enough recognition to begin working for Stardom in Japan. Still, her last appearance for the Japanese promotion was several months agao, and she has since become a regular for GCW, where she has wrestled intergender matches against Joey Janela and Mike Bailey.
