Cody Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania XL when he dethroned Roman Reigns to become the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. And while this moment was incredibly memorable and touched many fans, some felt the post-match celebration with Triple H was overboard. Seemingly amongst those was Toni Storm, as she would tell Tony Khan during Dynasty’s post-show media scrum, “I promise you, no matter how many matches I win, no matter how many stories I finish. I will never call you into the ring to celebrate with me.”
Obviously, this would get back to Rhodes, who has now seemingly acknowledged her comments during an interview with the Cheap Heat podcast, saying that while he would never root against AEW, it isn’t always easy due to “things said about you at press conferences.” Additionally, he would note that bringing up his wife Brandi’s name is a big no-no, although it should be noted that Storm didn’t mention her, although she did comment on Nikki Garcia, which could be where Rhodes is getting confused.
“I would never root against them in any case, that’s not always easy because random things said about you at press conferences, and that’s a big no-no. You should never say me or my wife’s name, Tony should have told you that.”

However, the second-generation star shockingly departed the company in 2022 because of an unknown personal issue. This was considered a massive gamble at the time, given how his previous run in WWE had ended. However, after establishing himself as a genuine main eventer in AEW, he was pushed as a massive star upon his return.
