Chris Jericho Shares What Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley Think Of His KISS Cover Band Kuarantine

Kuarantine, the Chris Jericho-fronted KISS cover band specializing in deep tracks from the band’s non-makeup years, recently released their take on the 1987 “Crazy Nights” track “Good Girl Gone Bad.”

Kuarantine previously tackled other cuts from the era including “No No No,” “Heart Of Chrome,” “Silver Spoon,” and “Love’s A Deadly Weapon,” and all of them have been successful on rock radio bringing an often overlooked era of KISS to a new generation of fans.

Jericho appeared on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation” with Eddie Trunk on Tuesday to promote the track and the band’s upcoming gigs in July. Trunk asked: “Do you think that in some way that you doing this has given Gene and Paul more appreciation for these songs and this era?”

“I don’t know how much they pay attention to it,” Jericho said. “I sent Paul ‘Silver Spoon.’ I sent him ‘Heart Of Chrome.’ I sent Gene the three tunes we did of his. I think they appreciate it. I would have to think that if nothing else they probably think that it’s cool or at least interesting or intriguing that we’re doing it and having success with it. This is not a KISS cover band that you see for the most part with makeup doing ‘Shout It Out Loud’ and ‘Love Gun.’ We’re going on stage and doing ‘Let’s Put The X In Sex’ and ‘All Hell’s Breaking Loose.’”

Jericho continued: “It’s kind of like, ‘Really? Those are the tunes you’re doing?’ But when you sell them and you play them properly, a good song is a good song. It doesn’t matter if you know it or not. It just works. So I would think if they follow anything we’ve been doing — and I bet you Gene might more than Paul does, because Gene’s pretty astute when it comes to anything KISS related — I think they probably have a little bit of a, ‘Good for those guys,’ type of vibe, because we’re keeping these songs alive and re-introducing them to a whole new generation of people. That’s just good for their business and their legacy.”

Kuarantine has played Chris Jericho’s Rock ’N’ Wrestling Rager At Sea multiple times, and they took their act on the road last summer for three dates in the Midwest. The band will play live again this summer on July 5 in Chesterfield, Michigan; July 6 in Franklin, Ohio; and July 7 in Warrendale, Pennsylvania. Ticket info can be found here, and “Good Girl Gone Bad” is available now on all streaming platforms and linked below.
